ITT Corp. said its second-quarter net income was $397 million, up from $244 million a year ago. Earnings for the first half were $650 million, up from $444 million. Consolidated sales and revenues for the quarter were $5.2 billion, unchanged from last year; sales and revenues for the half were $10.2 billion, up from $10 billion.
Ingersoll-Rand Co. reported second-quarter earnings of $53.9 million, up from $52.4 million last year. Earnings for the first six months were $99.5 million, up from $93.1 million. Sales for the second quarter came to $932 million, up from $907.4 million; first-half sales were $1.8 billion, up from $1.7 billion.
Cooper Industries, parent of Gardner-Denver Mining & Construction, said its net income for the second quarter was $99.8 million, on revenues of $1.6 billion, up from $71.8 million earned on revenues of $1.4 billion last year. In the first half, net income was $159.6 million, up from $109.8 million; revenues came to $3 billion, up from $2.4 billion.
