MULL CONSEQUENCES OF ANTI-ABORTION LAW

I SIMPLY cannot believe the sudden rush to pass an anti-abortion law in Louisiana! Little by little, our freedoms are being taken away from us by our legislatures. I am in the middle regarding abortion. I think that it should be a woman's choice, yet I don't think that right should be abused.

I hope that the Louisiana Legislature, especially Rep. Woody Jenkins, knows that by accepting the fact that "the unborn is a human being from the moment of conception and we ought not make exceptions to the principle," they are in fact saying that all women who get pregnant deserve to claim the unborn child on their tax returns and receive other benefits, including insurance and welfare.

With the rapid spread of AIDS, what is going to happen when women who have AIDS get pregnant and pass it on to their babies? Who is going to pay for that? Society will.

I hope that the Louisiana flag-burning/abortion law gets vetoed and not overridden. If it passes, I hope that when it goes to the Supreme Court, the justices (1) declare it unconstitutional or (2) make arrangements with the Internal Revenue Service for deductions of unborn children.
