Gary Thomas Stone, formerly of Roanoke died suddenly Sunday morning July 22, 1990 in Orlando, Fla. He was born May 23, 1949 in Chatham, Va. to Sammie Stone, Sr. and the late Louisanna Robertson Stone. He was a graduate of Lucy Addison High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He is survived by a former wife, Nellie Stone; one son, Gary Stone, Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Tarsha L. Stone, a member of the U.S. Navy stationed in Norfolk, Va.; his father, Sammie Stone, Sr. of Roanoke; six sisters, Perrie Thrower, Rowena Brewer, Lucille Patrick, Maryann and Laura Sue Stone, all of Roanoke; and Geraldine Stone of New Rochelle, N.Y.; three brothers, Charlie Stone of Jacksonville, Fla.; Raleigh Stone of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Sammie Stone, Jr. of Roanoke; two aunts, Perlene Harris of Roanoke; and Lillie Mae Robertson of Chatham, Va.; 19 nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Reposing at Mitchell Funeral Home, Orlando, Fla., funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 1990 at 501 Fairvilla Road, Orlando, Fla.
