DAR SPONSORS NATURALIZATION RITES

THE OTHERWISE excellent reporting July 14 on the naturalization ceremony for 60 new American citizens failed to mention that this semiannual event is sponsored by the Gen. James Breckinridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Since 1979, our DAR chapter has held this formal ceremony twice each year, providing the music, speakers, a color guard, the printed program and a gift of a small American flag for each new citizen. Following the ceremony we give a reception for all of the new citizens, their families and the media.

Judge Turk complimented the members for their efforts through the years in making this a special occasion for our new citizens. Why could you not have at least mentioned that we sponsored the event? MRS. PAUL M. FRANTZ Regent, Gen. James Breckinridge Chapter NSDAR ROANOKE
