CHALLENGE GRANT FOR POOL HAS A TAKER

Peter Borg, plant manager of Federal Mogul, has pledged a $10,000 contribution to help match the Corning Foundation's challenge grant of $50,000 for Blacksburg's indoor swimming pool, Town Manager Ron Secrist said.

Secrist, Mayor Roger Hedgepeth and Parks and Recreation Director Bill Winfrey had asked Borg and other managers of Blacksburg companies for a pledge. The officials had hoped to get pledges of $10,000 from five companies, but Hedgepeth said they might change plans and seek smaller amounts from more companies.
