\ THE REV. FREDERICK CLEMENS, pastor since 1987 at Diamond Hill and Emmaus churches at Moneta, has begun his ministry at Rockingham Court United Methodist Church. Clemens, 40, is a graduate of Anderson University, its theological school and of the Christian Theological Seminary. He was a pastor of the Church of God based in Anderson until three years ago.

The pastor, married to speech pathologist Becky Strange Clemens, has been a hospital chaplain as well as minister of churches in Illinois, Alabama and in Richmond.

\ CHOIR SCHOOL, a music training program for children in public kindergarten through sixth grade, is scheduled Aug. 20-24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Virginia Heights Baptist Church, Memorial at Grandin Southwest. Phyllis Wampler of the other sponsoring congregation, Raleigh Court United Methodist, is the director. Call 344-6011 to register.

\ SARA DREWRY has resigned from the part-time position of youth minister at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church to become a teacher and the chaplain of the Roanoke Catholic Upper School.

\ AN AGAPE JUBILEE FESTIVAL to raise money for TAP is scheduled at Victory Stadium Aug. 5 at 5 p.m. The program will include selections by several gospel-singing groups as well as by a choir made up of members from many churches. For tickets, call 981-2889 or 342-5058.

\ REGISTRATION is open for two children's programs to start in September at Christ Lutheran Church, Brandon and Grandin Southwest. Call Barbara Conley at 981-0136 for more information about Noah's Landing, a program for children 2 and 3 years old, and the After School Club for the kindergarten through fifth grade age group. The 3:15-to 5:45-p.m. daily program is limited to 15 children and includes supervised recreation and field trips. Bus transportation to the church is provided from neighborhood schools.

\ SUPER SATURDAYS for children 12 and under is scheduled Saturday and on Aug. 4 and 11 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Highland Park United Methodist Church, Mountain and Ferdinand Southwest. Programs will include a guest entertainer, games, crafts and refreshments. Call 342-0347 in the mornings for more information.

\ SIX BRITISH TEENS from the Anglican Diocese of Bradford will arrive tonight for three weeks in Western Virginia. They are part of a companion church program between Western Virginia Episcopalians and the Yorkshire diocese.

In Roanoke, the group members will be based at St. Elizabeth's Church. Later they will visit in Lynchburg and several other areas and will go on a canoe trip.

Youths and adults from the two areas often rotate annual trips to promote international understanding.

\ RED HILL CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN, 6050 Franklin Road in Roanoke County, has scheduled vacation Bible school Monday through Aug. 5 mornings from 9 to 11:30. It will enroll children who are entering kindergarten through those having completed seventh grade.

\ A YOUTH HANDBELL CHOIR from First Baptist Church in Warner, Okla., will perform Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at South Roanoke Baptist Church, 2411 Rosalind Ave. S.W. The program also will include vocal solos and a brass quintet.

\ A TEACHER RECOGNITION SUNDAY is scheduled Aug. 26 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 344 Church Ave. S.W. The service will begin at 10 a.m.

\ SALEM CAMP MEETING, established in 1896, will be in session Aug. 18-26 at the tabernacle at 208 Third St. in Salem. Night services will begin at 7:15 with those in the morning at 10:30. World Mission programs are scheduled on Sundays at 3 p.m. Evangelist will be the Rev. Wilbur Dayton of Macon, Ga., with Dick Whitener of Bessemer City, N.C., the song leader.

Missionaries participating will be Jim and Grace Smyth, workers in Colombia, South America, and Marjorie Campbell, who has served in Kenya. Call 389-1661 for more information.
