Kistler, the 1987 champion, has a one-shot lead over Rufus Spiers and a two-shot advantage over Pete Stamper and 1988 champion Arman Fletcher. Bill Deck is alone in fifth after a 73.
Kistler helped Roanoke Country Club gain a share of the lead in the team competition with Blue Hills at 221. Hidden Valley is third at 226, followed by Countryside (228), Botetourt (232), Hunting Hills (233), Ole Monterey (235) and Waterfront (243).
Botetourt, which has never won a team title in any of the four tournaments conducted by the Hall of Fame, is in good shape in the junior tournament with a three-man total of 228.
Adam Harrell of Botetourt is tied for the lead with Eric Early of Countryside at 75, followed by Mike Griffin of Botetourt at 76. Sean Litton of the Waterfront and Ander Miller of Botetourt are next at 77.
Countryside is in third at 246, followed by Blue Hills (253), Hidden Valley (261), Roanoke (264) and Hunting Hills (274).
The final round will be held today at the Waterfront.
