I-81 COUNCIL GETS $25,000 FOR STUDY

The Economic Development Administration has awarded a $25,000 grant to the Interstate 81 Corridor Council for a study of development potential of five interchanges along the highway between Winchester and Bristol.

The grant will be supplemented by $8,750 from five planning districts, said Wayne Strickland, chairman of the council and executive director of the Fifth Planning District. He said the council eventually will study a larger number of the 84 interchanges in that segment of the corridor. - Staff report
