OBIT WERTZ, W.

Wilbert Ray Wertz, age 78, of Blue Ridge, formerly of Vinton, passed away Thursday morning in a Salem hospital. He was retired owner and operator of Wertz Nursery and a member of Ninth Street Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Martin Wertz; one son, Don Ray Wertz, Roanoke County; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Eula Bott) Naff, Blue Ridge; Mrs. William (Jane) Crouch, Jr., Vinton; Mrs. Glenn (Brenda) Martin, Blue Ridge; two brothers, Harry P. Wertz, Roy B. Wertz, both of Roanoke County; four sisters, Mrs. Edith Camper, Mrs. Sylvia Webb, Mrs. Katherine Agee, all of Roanoke; Mrs. Violet Avell, Vinton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Gene Hagenberger, Jr. officiating. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park.
