OBIT SHREWSBURY, R.

Roy Davis Shrewsbury, age 88, of Route 2, passed away Thursday, July 26, 1990 in a Roanoke Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1901 in Bedford County, a son of the late Nathan Shrewsbury and Annie Huddleston Shrewsbury. His wife was the late Eona Brown Shrewsbury. He was a retired merchant and was a member of the Emmaus United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, Roy F. Shrewsbury, Moneta; James B. Shrewsbury, Spartanburg, S.C.; one brother, Hubert Shrewsbury, Bedford; five sisters, Ida Simmons; Virginia Simmons; Agnes Huddleston, all of Vinton; Lorene McGhee, Moneta; Margaret Cundiff, Bedford; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 28, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Dennis Moore and Rev. Ardell McClung. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
