Mrs. Ruby Cox King of Roanoke died Friday in a Salem hospital. Mrs. King was a former employee of the VA Medical Center. She was the widow of Jesse D. King and is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley and Garland Goodwin, Jessups, Md.; Lelia Sweet and Jessie Hale, both of Roanoke; a son, Calvin D. King, Roanoke; two brothers, Jake Cox, and Jabe Cox, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Toye Puckett and Mrs. Marcella Blankenship, both of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Ronnie Sweet, Joanne Lapole, Donnie Bailey, Dianne Kingery, Eddie Goodwin, and Jesse Goodwin; also surviving are seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Lotz Roanoke Chapel 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 1990, with the Rev. Carter Sloan officiating. Interment in Evergreen Burial Park.
