WILSON WINS AT FCS

Pole-sitter Dickie Wilson of Salem fended off Paul Radford of Ferrum and Kenny Minter of Martinsville on Saturday to win the 50-lap Late Model Stock feature at Franklin County Speedway.

For his third victory in a row, Wilson took home $2,000.

Ricky Sigmon of Rocky Mount and Dudley Lawhorne of Rustburg crashed on the first lap of the race, which was part of the All Pro Auto Parts 300 card.

In the Mini Stock race, Robert Cox of Vinton won over Shelby Cundiff of Vinton and Teddy Quesenberry of Willis.

Dale Bain of Bedford and Tommy Dean of Roanoke crashed on the first lap, with Bane being taken to Franklin Hospital. He was treated and released.

Kenny Wagner of Roanoke took the lead from Jay Foley of Bassett on the 17th lap and went on to win the 35-lap Street Stock race. Mike Dudley of Roanoke finished second.

Tim Hogan of Rocky Mount won the 6-cylinder race. Chad Smith of Rocky Mount was runner-up and George Spangler of Floyd third.

In the rookie event, Clifford "Action" Jackson of Roanoke beat out Larry Drummond of Vinton and Richard Rogers of Stuart. - Staff report
