BE RIGHT OR WRONG, BUT BE CONSISTENT

IN HIS July 20 column, Paxton Davis appears to want the best - or worst - of two worlds. He would exclude Germany from the civilized world forever for its extermination of 10 million people. (Does he forget what Stalin did in the U.S.S.R. during and prior to World War II?)

On the other hand, he is ashamed that VMI continues to refuse to recognize that changing times demand changing behavior.

Surely, he should recognize that the Germany of today is not the Germany of 45 years ago. For how long would he visit the sins of the fathers upon the children? Or does he not believe that circumstances alter cases?

Davis can be right or wrong, but he should be consistent!
