STOCKTON GETS DEATH PENALTY AGAIN

Convicted capital murderer Dennis Stockton on Monday was sentenced to death for the second time in the 1978 slaying of a North Carolina teen-ager.

Patrick County Circuit Judge Frank Richardson set a Feb. 15 execution date, but the case is on appeal and the sentence probably will not be carried out on that date.

Stockton was convicted in 1982 for the contract killing of 18-year-old Kenneth Arnder and sentenced to death. The sentence was overturned on appeal because the owner of a diner told four jurors during the 1982 trial that he thought they should "fry" Stockton.
