SMITH, JACK M. \ Jack M. Smith, age 89, of Roanoke County, died January 30,

1991 at his home. He was a retired Welding Supervisor at the N&W Railway and a member of Windsor Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Eddie G. Smith. Surviving are his wife, Lethia LaVelle Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne L. and Mary Lou Smith, Harrionsburg; daughter-in-law, Juanita Smith, Roanoke; three grandchildren, Sherry Smith Roberts and her husband, Robin, Roanoke; Stacey Anne Smith and Stephen W. Smith, both of Winter Haven, Fla.; one great-grandchild, Christopher Smith, Winter Haven, Fla.; four brothers, Joseph B. Smith, Roanoke; Robert G. Smith, Laurinburg, N.C.; Charles Smith and Horace Smith, both of Rockingham, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Molly S. Beroth, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mrs. Caroline S. Johnson, Rockingham, N.C.; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. C. Lawrence Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Oakey's South Chapel.
