RAISED VOICES: The "All Mozart Gala" of the Southwest Virginia Opera will take place Monday night at 8 at the Roanoke Civic Center auditorium.

Victoria Bond will conduct the orchestra. She is the opera's artistic director. Soloists will be provided by the Virginia Opera Association in Norfolk. They are Deborah Golembiski, soprano; Karie Brown, mezzo-soprano; Tracey Welborn, tenor; and Gardner Rhea, bass-baritone.

The program will consist of works from "Cosi Fan Tutte," "The Magic Flute," "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Don Giovanni."

Baritone Craig Fields and soprano Nancy McDuffie, both affiliated with Virginia Tech, also will be featured.

Tickets are $19, $16 and $9. They are on sale at the civic center box office, where the number is 981-1202.\ / PLUCKING AND FIDDLING: Peter Ostroushko, formerly the music director for public radio's "A Prairie Home Companion," will bring his acoustic instruments to the Hokie House restaurant in Blacksburg for a show Wednesday night at 8.

He will be accompanied by guitarist Dean Magraw.

Ostroushko is known for variety in his music. His repertoire includes elements from his Urkrainian heritage as well as jazz, bluegrass, oldtime and swing. His accomplishments include barking like a dog on the David Letterman television show, playing lead ukulele with the Minnesota Symphony conducted by Sir Neville Mariner and composing and performing theatrical works.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the door. For information, call 231-5802 during the day or 951-0964 in the evening.\ / LYNCHBURG FATS: "Ain't Misbehavin' " opens tonight at 8 at the Lynchburg Fine Arts Center. The musical tribute to Fats Waller continues Saturday and Feb. 8 and 9 at 8 p.m., Sunday afternoon at 2 and Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.

Hiawatha Johnson directs.

Tickets are $8.50 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5.50 for students and $4.50 for children. For reservations or information, call (804) 846-3804. \ GRAZIN' IN THE GRASS: Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys will headline a concert Sunday afternoon at 2 at Appomattox County High School auditorium.

Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys also will appear.

The show will raise funds for the upcoming Historic Appomattox Railroad Festival.

Tickets are $8 in advance $10 at the door, with children under 12 admitted at half-price.

The drama centers around Hally, a white South African youth, and the two black servants who work for his parents. The play contains subject matter and language that some may find offensive.

For ticket information, call 231-5615.\ MORNING SONG: Angela Case, soprano, will sing Thursday morning at 10:30 for the meeting of the Thursday Morning Music Club at Cave Spring Baptist Church in Roanoke.

Case recently won a scholarship to pursue a master of music degree at Mannes College in New York City.

She will be accompanied by Elizabeth Bachelder on piano.

The recital is open to all, and it's free.
