REASSESSMENT HEARINGS PLANNED

Hearings on Montgomery County reassessments will be held over the next few weeks in the old American Legion Hall, 340 College St., Christiansburg in front of Christiansburg Middle School.

If you wish to discuss or appeal your reassessment, call 382-6945 to make an appointment. If you are unable to make an appointment, come in during one of these times and someone will see you as soon as possible.

The following dates and times apply to all districts and towns in Montgomery County:

Monday, 1-8 p.m.

Tuesday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Wednesday, 1-8 p.m.

Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Feb. 11, 1-8 p.m.

Feb. 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Feb. 13, 1-8 p.m.

Feb. 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Copies of the Montgomery County real estate reassessment have been placed in the public libraries in Blacksburg and Christiansburg.

The documents placed in the libraries list the reassessment values of real estate under the name of the property's owner.

Reassessment notices were mailed to county property owners this week. The total value of taxable real estate in Montgomery increased with the reassessment by slightly over a fourth, from $1.5 billion to $1.9 billion.
