BLACKSBURG COMPANY DEVELOPS TOURIST LURE

Tele-Works Inc., a Blacksburg-based telecommunications firm, has developed the Automated Broadcast Information System, a low-power radio station to be installed along interstate highways to promote tourism and economic development.

Project coordinator John Walker said the system is an excellent way for localities to attract travelers into communities.

The sites should be in place in Roanoke and the New River Valley by late summer 1991.
