MAX MEADOWS MAN'S SENTENCE SUSPENDED

A 40-year-old Max Meadows man has gotten a suspended sentence for a conviction on breaking into Chapman Motors more than a year ago.

Another charge of arson against Andrew Lee Dunford was abandoned. A fire occurred in the dealership office and caused extensive damage at the time of the break-in on Dec. 31, 1989.

Following a presentence report this week, Dunford was given a 10-year suspended prison term and put on probation for five years. He was ordered to do 100 hours of community service and pay the dealership $5,200 for fire damage.
