The Blue Ridge World Trade Association was organized Oct. 11 by business people from throughout Southwest Virginia, the only part of the state lacking an organization to help its people do business overseas.
The organization has created a resource center at Wytheville Community College and has brought in several speakers with expertise in international trade.
Membership in the Blue Ridge World Trade Association is $35 for a company, $20 for an individual and $5 for a student.
More information on the group is available from Chairman Jill Burcham, director of marketing at Darco Southern in Independence (773-2711), or Rick Williamson, continuing education director at Wytheville Community College (228-5541).
