THANKS TO ALL GROUPS WHO GAVE JOY TO KIDS

On behalf of the Voluntary Action Center of Montgomery County and Radford, I sincerely thank the following civic, church and fraternal groups for the Christmas parties they sponsored for needy children this holiday season:

Kappa Sigma/Kappa Delta, Pi Kappa Alpha; German Club; Blacksburg Church of Christ Student Fellowship; Highty Tighties; Horticulture Club of Virginia Tech; Sigma Gamma Rho; Blacksburg Kiwanis Club; Sigma Phi Epsilon; Alpha Sigma Tau of Radford University; Phi Kappa Sigma of Radford University; Luther Memorial Lutheran Church; Kiwanis Club of Christiansburg; Montgomery Regional Hospital staff; Virginia Tech dining hall managers; Episcopal Campus Ministry students; Inter-Residence Hall Council of Radford University; Silverwings (cadets); St. Thomas Episcopal Church; Blacksburg Junior Women's Club; Rotary International, and the Students Against Poverty.

The more than 822 volunteers represented by these groups entertained more than 554 local children and made their Christmas very special. The Voluntary Action Center appreciates the considerable time, effort, money and love that went into each party. It is most grateful to these dedicated volunteers, and to Virginia Tech Placement Services, which adopted a family this year, for their hard work and for the joy they have brought so many children in the community.
