WHEELING, JOSEPH L.

Joseph Lindsay Wheeling, age 60, died Friday, February 1, 1991, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born February 1, 1931, in Winston-Salem, N. C., and was the son of Ernest M. and Mildred Hicks Wheeling of Winston-Salem. He was a member of The Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church and was with the engineering department at Virginia Military Institute. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University and the University of Virginia and had served in the administrative department of Augusta and Rockbridge County and the City of Williamsburg School Systems. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jane Miller Wheeling, Lexington; one daughter, Jennifer W. Wheeling, Roanoke; one son, Joseph Samuel Wheeling, Elon College, N. C.; and one sister, Doris Hansley, Winston-Salem, N. C.; one brother, Larry Douglas Wheeling, Denver, Colo. Memorial services will be conducted Monday morning at 11:00 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor J. S. Koiner, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Salvation Army or the V.M.I. Foundation. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home
