QUAYLE VISITS TROOPS; IT'S A DISGRACE

OH, BOY! Bush has Dan on the road again, trying to make points in Mayport, Fla. and Norfolk, Va., on Jan. 23.

Why he insists on subjecting our military personnel to the likes of this draft dodger is more than I can understand. (Draft dodger is what we called them in World War II, when for some reason they wouldn't go into the service of their country.) Why should he be allowed to speak to the military when he thought he was too good, or he was too scared, to serve his country?

Letting this coward parade around in front of our guys and their families is almost as bad as Saddam parading our POWs through the streets of Baghdad. It's an absolute disgrace. RUTH HAYTER PULASKI
