COREAST BRANCH ROBBED BY 2 MEN

The CorEast Savings Bank branch on Colonial Avenue was robbed by two gunmen just before 10:30 a.m. today, Roanoke authorities said.

No one was injured in the robbery, in which the men got away with an unknown amount of money, police said.

The men, both armed with revolvers and wearing ski masks, entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. The robbers also told the teller not to give them any money that had been marked or could be identified.

Both men were described as being of husky build and wearing black nylon ski jackets with orange trim and acid-washed blue jeans.

The case has been turned over to the FBI, Roanoke police said.
