TIGHT END COMMITS TO HOKIES

Kevin Skinner, a tight end from Osbourn Park High in Manassas, has become the sixth player off the Roanoke Times & World-News Top 25 to make an oral commitment to Virginia Tech.

Skinner, a 6-foot-4, 230-pounder, took visits to Tech and Wake and canceled a trip to Maryland.

He had 16 receptions as a senior, but considers blocking his strong point. "If I get bigger and lose some of my speed, they might move me to the offensive line," he said.

Skinner, who said he has been leaning toward Tech since an open house for recruits this summer, is the Hokies' 17th known commitment.
