OBIT PAYNE, G.

George William Payne, age 90, of Roanoke, died Monday, February 4, 1991. He was a retired employee of N&W Railway, East End Shops. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose Bova Payne; two daughters, Rosemary M. Gauldin, Georgene P. Elmore; three grandchildren, George W. Miller, Stephanie A. Elmore, Derek S. Elmore; one brother, Walter Payne, Jr.; three sisters, Myrtle A. Payne, Harriett K. Ferguson, all of Roanoke; Rebecca P. Allen, Ashland, Ky.; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6 with Rev. Kelly Dampeer officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
