Ms. Ella Mae Keen, age 87, of 1226 Rugby Blvd., N.W., passed away in a local hospital on Monday. She taught mathematics, algebra, and trigonometry in the Roanoke City Schools for more than 40 years, retiring from Lucy Addison High School. Survivors include two brothers, William C. Keen Jr., Roanoke; James P. Keen, Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Helen Kanoy, Thomasville, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Frances L. Keen, Roanoke; Mrs. Alma Keen, Winston-Salem, N.C.; nieces, Mrs. Eldean Keen Fox, Greensboro, N.C.; Mrs. Juanita Foy, Rochester, N.Y.; nephew, Oliver Kanoy Jr., Atlanta, Ga.; and other relatives.
