Frank Wendell McGuire, 27, of the 3900 block of Winesap Road, was convicted by a Pulaski County Circuit Court jury in October. The jury recommended 15 years and Judge A. Dow Owens imposed that sentence Jan. 25.
The rape occurred last March 19 at McGuire's mobile home, said Commonwealth's Attorney Everett P. Shockley. McGuire was a friend of the child's family. During his trial, McGuire denied having had sexual contact with the girl.
In another case, John Thomas Rilee, 20, a former Radford University student from Plain View, was sentenced to 20 years after being convicted of breaking into a home last March and stealing a rifle, a revolver, audio equipment, coin collections and money.
The sentence was suspended and Rilee was placed on probation for five years.
