LEUKEMIA SOCIETY TO HOLD ANNUAL VACATION AUCTION

The Western Virginia/West Virginia branch of the Leukemia Society of America will hold its seventh annual Vacation Auction Wednesday at the Jefferson Club, atop the Dominion Bank Building, 213 S. Jefferson St. downtown. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on more than 28 vacation packages that include getaways at country inns, Virginia and Myrtle beaches and the Caribbean.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for bidders to register and preview packages. Bidding begins at 7 p.m.

Admission is $8 with hors d'oeuvres included.

Proceeds benefit the branch's patient aid program and the funding of research grants at the University of Virginia and the Medical College of Virginia.
