A: Quickline has received numerous complaints about this company, as has the state Division of Consumer Affairs in Richmond. Complaints have been resolved once the company is contacted, according to Stuart Ashby, an agency spokesman.
Hill Brothers of Lynchburg filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Act on Sept. 25, 1989. However that petition was rejected Oct. 31, 1989, because the court decided it was improperly filed.
Angie Hill, customer service representative for Hill Brothers, said the company is making refunds. "We're trying to get everybody's money back. Refunds are sent out on a daily basis."
When Hill Brothers filed for Chapter 11 protection, "things were put on hold," Brown said. "Then a few of the manufacturers we use went out of business themselves, which put us further behind. Everything is back on track now."
We can recommend three methods for dealing with a complaint against the company.
You can contact Brown at (804) 528-1000. Tell her Quickline referred you.
The Better Business Bureau also accepts complaints against Hill Brothers. All complaints to the BBB must be made in writing and sent to 31 W. Campbell Ave., Roanoke 24011.
Or contact the State Division of Consumer Affairs at (804) 786-2042 or by writing to P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, Va. 23209.
