BLAND TEEN DRIVER KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT

A 16-year-old Bland County resident died Sunday from injuries sustained Saturday night when his car ran off a road and overturned.

The victim was identified as Joseph Steven Lindamood, a sophomore at Bland High School and member of the Bland Rockets varsity basketball team.

Trooper J.R. Haga said the car was traveling west on Virginia 42 about 9 miles west of Bland when the accident happened. The driver died at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
