WINTER WEEKEND '91 STARTS FRIDAY AT RU

Winter Weekend '91 at Radford University - which runs Friday through Sunday - will include a pep rally, basketball and a career exploration day.

RU's basketball team and 1991 Snow Court will be introduced at a rally Friday on Moffett Field at 6:30 p.m. Brunswick stew, hot chocolate and cider will be sold. After a bonfire, a battle of the bands starts at 8 p.m. in Heth Ballroom. Admission is $1.

Basketball is the main event Saturday. The Lady Highlanders play Southern Mississippi at 4 p.m. A reunion for former student leaders also is at 4 in Dedmon Center. The men's team competes against Coastal Carolina at 7:30 p.m.

Halftime of the men's game will feature "AutoLotto" and a drawing for a mystery trip. Proceeds from the raffle go to fraternity and athletic scholarship funds. Tickets for the drawing are available at Dedmon Center and Heth's information desk. The Snow King and Queen also will be crowned at halftime.

Career Exploration Day begins at 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis and Young halls. Alumni will discuss career strategies with students.

The weekend concludes with a leadership recognition luncheon at 11 a.m. Sunday in Muse banquet room by the Black Awareness Programming Board and Black Student Affairs Council. Reservations are required. For information, call 831-5248 or (800) 782-3174.
