HARRISONBURG - William Fred Coley, age 90, formerly of Waynesboro, died Monday, February 4, at the Sunnyside Health Center in Harrisonburg. He was born in Rural Retreat, Va., October 11, 1900, the son of William and Catherine Neff Coley. He was a member of the Waynesboro First Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Roanoke College,class of 1923. He taught public school in Virginia, Mississippi, and in many other states. He was also a retired supervisor of the Department of Agriculture. Survivors include his wife, Frances Gilkenson Coley, Harrisonburg; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas H. Frances Ellen Parry, Poquroson, Va.; two grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at River View Cemetery, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Services will be conducted by Dr. J. W. Kennedy. The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Memorial Education Fund of the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 877, Waynesboro, Va., 22980 or the Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community, P.O. Box 928, Harrisonburg, Va., 22801. McDow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
