VMI REGIMENTAL BAND TO MARCH AT MARDI GRAS

VMI's Regimental Band has been invited to participate in the feature parade of the Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans.

The 75-piece cadet band will march Saturday in the Endymion parade, the largest and most elaborate of the Mardi Gras parades. Under the direction of Capt. John Brodie, the band was a crowd favorite at last year's Mardi Gras, and was awarded the Mendelson Plaque as the outstanding military band on parade.

By special arrangement with the U.S. Navy, the VMI band will be housed aboard the USS Mount Whitney, a Navy amphibious command ship docked just a few blocks from the French Quarter.
