VOICE RECITAL THURSDAY AT RU

Mezzo-soprano Clarity James, an associate music professor at Radford University, will give a recital Thursday at 8 p.m. in Preston Auditorium.

James, who has performed with the New York City Opera and the Netherlands Opera, will sing pieces by Verdi, Respighi and Copland. Featured selections are "Divinities du Styx" from Alceste by Christopher Willibald Gluck and four pieces from "Vier ernste Gestange," Op. 121 by Johannes Brahms.

Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children.
