PRESIDENT'S NEPHEW ENLISTS IN RESERVES

A 21-year-old nephew of President Bush has enlisted as a medic in the Army Reserves in hope of serving in the Persian Gulf war. But training will keep him stateside for at least 4 1/2 months.

Jonathan J. Bush Jr., a junior at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., said he signed up Jan. 26 with the 819th Army Station Hospital unit out of West Hartford, after getting permission to take the semester off. - Associated Press
