Earnest Helem (Dick) Hogan, age 80, of Roanoke, passed away Monday in a local hospital. He was a former employee of Valley Lumber Company where he had served 52 years. Surviving are his wife, Gipsy Chisom Hogan; one son, Ronald H. Hogan, Roanoke; three daughters, Juanita Hogan Wright, Roanoke; Doris Hogan Elliott, Hardy; Joyce Hogan Deel, Roanoke; two brothers, Phillip Hogan, Curtis Hogan, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Grace Green, Roanoke; Margie Thompson, Gambrills, Md.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 1991, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. Mr. Richard Waller and Mr. Brian Hilligoss will officiate. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
