SOME IDLED WORKERS TO GET JOB-HUNT FUNDS

Trade Adjustment Assistance funds totaling $575,000 have been provided for training, job search and relocation expenses for more than 100 workers at AT&T at Fairlawn, Hercules Inc. at Covington and Sprague Electric Co. at Hillsville who were laid off as a result of increased imports of foreign products.

The U.S. Labor Department's Employment and Training Administration said the program provides weekly allowances to eligible workers. - Staff report
