The three-day tournament will feature levels of competition ranging from the Pee Wee Class for 8- and 9-year-olds to the Open Division for fighters with more than 10 amateur fights.
The event features single-elimination competition ending with the championship bouts Saturday night.
In addition to the Pee Wee class, which is in the Junior Olympic Division, other youth classes include the Junior for ages 10-11, Intermediate for ages 12-13 and Senior for ages 14-15. The final division is Novice, for those fighters with less than 10 fights.
Robert Lee, president of the International Boxing Federation; Bill Brennan, chairman of IBF championship committee; and Doug Beavers, chairman of the ratings committee, will attend Friday night and Saturday night.
Doors open on all three nights at 6 p.m. Tickets in advance are $5 for tonight and Friday night and $8 for Saturday's championships. Tickets at the door are $8 for today and Friday and $10 for Saturday. - Staff report
