BLACKSTOCK LEADS KNIGHTS BY SPARTANS

Cave Spring got 22 points from Jeremy Blackstock and used its pressure defense to shut down host Salem for an 88-57 boys' high school basketball victory Wednesday night.

The Knights led 46-33 at halftime after forcing numerous Spartans turnovers.

Mike Fayed put in 19 points and Chris Webster added 12 for Cave Spring (9-7).

Mark Byington led Salem (5-10) with 14 points, Jay Sandy had 12 and Corey Epperly and Brian Arthur added 10 each.
