MAN TELLS POLICE TRIO BEAT HIM WITH BRICK

A 30-year-old man told Roanoke police Wednesday that three men beat him with a brick near Campbell Avenue.

Kevin Edward Campbell was found by a police officer about 2:50 p.m. at Campbell and Fifth Street Southwest.

He was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where a doctor discovered he had also been stabbed in the back. That wound did not appear serious.

Campbell, who suffered cuts over each eye, told police that three men beat him and then fled. Police followed a trail of blood to the old Jefferson High School area, but were unable to locate any suspects.
