DIERKER LEAVES BENCH, SPARKS KNIGHTS TO WIN

Sophomore Kelly Dierker came off the bench to score 22 points and grab nine rebounds, leading Cave Spring (15-1) to a 78-57 Roanoke Valley District girls' basketball victory over Franklin County (7-10) on Thursday.

Lisa Hodges scored 15 of her 1`7 points and had 10 rebounds in the first half, as the Knight (15-1)_ took a 48-19 lead. Kim Stewart scored nien of her 15 in a 32-point second quarter burst.

Lottie Huffman led the Eagles (7-10_ with 23 points.
