SOME AWOL SOLDIERS RETURN, SAY POINT MADE

Some of the 40 National Guardsmen declared AWOL by the Army returned to Fort Hood on Thursday, saying they made their point by getting publicity for their allegations of mistreatment and poor conditions.

Soldiers complained they were forced to train in cold weather with inadequate clothing, food was often late, and officials kept promising but not giving them passes. - Associated Press
