PLUMBING, NURSE AIDE COURSES SET AT COLLEGE

New River Community College is offering job training in two different fields through a program designed to help get people back into the job market.

"Introduction to Plumbing" will introduce the principles and practices of plumbing. The course will enable students to plan, prepare for and install supply and waste lines and kitchen and bath fixtures.

The geriatric nurse assistant program will teach students the care of older patients. After successful completion of the course, a student will be eligible to take the Nurse Aid Competency Evaluation Program exam for state licensure as a geriatric nursing assistant.

Costs for the courses - which have been made possible by a New River and Mount Rogers Private Industry Council grant - can be handled through a job training program grant if you are eligible. Call 674-3608 for information.
