MIA SEARCHES RECOVER REMAINS IN VIETNAM

Joint U.S.-Vietnamese teams trying to resolve 14 cases of U.S. men missing from the Vietnam War have found some remains, the official Vietnam News Agency reported.

The nearly three-week search, which ended Thursday, was the 13th time American military and Vietnamese experts cooperated in field investigations since September 1988.

According to the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, the Pentagon lists 2,285 Americans as missing in action, or MIA, from the Vietnam War. Fighting ended with a 1975 communist victory over the U.S.-backed South Vietnam government.
