WOMAN STABBED AFTER ARGUMENT AT GROCERY STORE

A 20-year-old woman was stabbed in the back Thursday night at a Northwest Roanoke grocery store by another woman with whom she had an ongoing argument, Roanoke police said today.

Angela Renee Priest of Camelot Drive Northwest was at the Cove Market in the 1700 block of Cove Road about 5:50 p.m. when another woman came into the store and asked her about a problem, police said. The two women had been arguing since August, police said.

As Priest turned to walk away, the woman stabbed her in the back near the right shoulder, authorities said.

Tracy Denise Saunders, 19, no address available, was charged with malicious wounding. Saunders also obtained a warrant for Priest, charging her with assault, police said.

Priest was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
