PROFESSOR TO SPEAK ABOUT AREA'S BLACKS

Oscar Williams Sr., professor of history at Virginia State University, will speak at Clinch Valley College Thursday on "Blacks in Southwest Virginia" as part of the college's celebration of Black History Month.

The 1 p.m. lecture in the Chapel of All Faiths will focus on important contributions blacks made to the region.

Williams taught previously at the University of Iowa and Bradley University, and has published a college textbook and other material.
