IN SERVICE

Newly promoted AIR FORCE SENIOR AIRMAN MICHAEL S. HIGGINS, a 1983 Radford High School graduate, was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal.

Higgins, son of Glenda S. Higgins of Dublin and Michael Higgins of Gibsonville, N.C., was awarded the medal for exemplary conduct while in the active service of the United States.

He is a communications and computer systems operator at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.

Higgins' wife, Beverly, is the daughter of Eddie and Bertie Robertson of Narrows.

\ AIR FORCE STAFF SGT. STUART A. GALYEAN, a 1980 Blacksburg High School graduate, arrived for duty at the Misawa Air Base in Japan.

He is an aircraft specialist.

\ PVT. EDGAR G. CRUISE, son of Edith Cruise of Radford and a 1990 Radford High School graduate, graduated from the material storage and handling course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

\ MARINE PFC. KEVIN R. GAUTIER, son of Jimmy R. Gautier of Dublin and a 1990 Pulaski County High School graduate, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, S.C.

\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT WARREN L. WHITLOW, son of Leonard F. Whitlow of Fieldale, in Great Lakes, Ill.

\ NAVY AIRMAN RECRUIT JEFFREY D. CLAGG, a 1990 graduate of Narrows High School, in San Diego.

\ PFC. MATTHEW A. DEELY, son of Simone Porter-Bures of Radford and John Deely of Iowa.

\ PVT. COLIN E. COLLEY, son of Fred and Juanita Colley of Blacksburg.

\ MARINE PVT. DARIAN RAY MOORE, son of Jerry and Barbara Moore of New Castle.
