Verda (Blackie) Bond Dulaney, age 75, of 727 Montross Avenue, S.E., died Saturday in a local hospital. She was a native of Floyd County. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jerry Wheeler, Floyd; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Cecil and Angela Dulaney, Boca Raton, Fla.; Wayne Dulaney, Belfair, Wash.; four grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Bond, Bluefield, W.Va.; two sisters, Zora Goforth, Bluefield, W.Va.; Oneda Gallimore, Floyd; a special friend, Ed Sexton, Roanoke. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Indian Valley with the Rev. Gene Arnold and the Rev. Carter Sloan officiating with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Lotz Roanoke Chapel and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood Funeral Home. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, Floyd.
