Carrie A. Richardson and James S. Newton are engaged and planning to be married summer of 1991. Carrie is the daughter of Robert E. Richardson of Salem and Eva H. Richardson of Roanoke. She graduated from Cave Spring High School and from Roanoke College. She is employed by Allstate Insurance Co. James is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Richard Newton of Chesterton, Ind. He graduated from Purdue University. He is employed by General Electric.
